University Twenty Young Masters


I will be taking part in the University twenty young masters tournament in Enschede which starts from 31st July to 8th August. Grandmaster Sergie Zhigalko of Belarus is the top seed . It’s a 20 player invitational tournament.

Grandmaster Gopal to take part in the Dubai open 2009

GM Gopal would leave for Dubai on 25th of April from Cochin and he would take part in the forthcoming edition of the Dubai open chess championship.

GOPAL GEETHA NARAYAN BECOMES THE NEW GRAND MASTER OF INDIA




International Master Gopal Geetha Narayan became India's latest and Kerala's first
Grand Master
. He made his third and final norm in the Asian Zonal 3.2 Championship held at Dhaka,Bangladesh.

Gopal completed the three GM norm requirements. He made a 10-game Norm from the International Open at Kolkata in March, a nine-game all-play-all norm from the Lake Sevan Category 12 Tournament at Armenia in July. His latest is the eleven game GM norm from the Zone 3.2 Championship last night at the NSC Conference Room in Dhaka on August 29.

Now Gopal is looking forward to play in the Asian Continental Chess Championship at Philippines which is considered to be " Asia's strongest Chess Championship".The top ten qualifiers of this event will be eligible to take part in World Cup ,2007 (Siberia).

GOPAL LEAVES FOR ARMENIA


GOPAL GN LEAVES FOR ARMENIA TO TAKE PART IN THE '' LAKE SEVAN 2007 " INTERNATIONAL CHESS TOURNAMENT WHICH WILL BE HELD IN ARMENIA FROM 5 TO 15 JULY ,2007.THE TOURNAMENT WILL BE 12 CATEGORY COMPRISING OF TWO SUPER GRAND MASTERS AND MANY GRAND MASTERS.GOPAL IS EYING FOR HIS SECOND GRAND MASTER NORM.
